About Us

Tree of Life Knoxville is committed to following the ways and teachings of Yeshua Ha'maschiah (The Messiah). We believe both Jewish and Non-Jewish believers in Yeshua can come together in common faith to serve the living Elohim (G-d) of Israel.

We rejoice in the 1948 rebirth of a nation of Israel for we believe it is a sovereign work of Elohim in our time and a sign of the soon coming restoration of the whole House of Israel. We eagerly anticipate the return of Yeshua our Messiah to His throne in Jerusalem in fulfillment of Scripture.

The primary purpose of Tree of Life is to teach the Hebraic/Jewish understanding of the Scriptures.  We proclaim that Yeshua the Messiah was sent to the lost sheep of the House of Israel and to unbelieving Gentiles; thus fulfilling Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the good news of Messiah, for it is the power of Elohim which leads to salvation to everyone that trusts; to the Jew first and then to the Gentile."

Also, we understand that this good news encompasses living a Torah-observant life that includes celebrating the Moedim (appointed times: Shabbat, annual Holy Days) for they are a shadow (outline) of things to come.

Col. 2:16-17
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: [17] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Messiah.

Our Beginning

The founding of Tree of Life Knoxville began in 1990 when we had a vision for living out a true Hebraic faith as seen in the B'rit Hadashah (Renewed Covenant) and practiced by Yeshua and His Talmadim (Disciples). In 1993, we began meeting in our home with like-minded believers who had a similar vision to pray, study, and to determine Elohim's will.

We believe that each person should be involved in an intimate, growing relationship with Elohim. Therefore, he or she should not only be a committed follower of Yeshua but should also help others in the community of believers. This necessitates that each person be Spirit-filled, i.e., living under the direction and control of the Ruach HaShem (Spirit of G-d) and obedient to the Scriptures (Ezek. 36:25-27; Eph. 5:18-21; Roman. 8:4; Gal. 5:22-23)

Affiliation

We believe that both Jewish and Non-Jewish believers are part of the nation of Israel (Eph. 2:11-22). If you are a believer in Yeshua, you are already a member of His Body and do not need to join a man-made organization.

Tree of Life Knoxville is not affiliated with any denomination or sect. There is only ONE Father, ONE Master, ONE Spirit, and ONE Body! (Eph. 4:4-6)
